40 DAYS OF PRAYER (2021)

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Day 21 – The Lord Who Overcomes

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? [1 John 5:1-5]

Dear Heavenly Father,

Regardless of race, social status, economic status, and intellectual differences, everyone has been threatened by COVID-19, living under the fear of infection and death. Some people even experienced discrimination, being labeled, losing jobs, especially for those who are older and easily to be replaced in their professions. Some people are so afraid of being infected, they purposely keep distance from others, as the result, they subconsciously built up an invisible wall where no one can enter, and they cannot escape, increasing the sense of loneliness in their heart.

O Lord, we pray for the people of this world. We all need healing by the redemptive power of Lord Jesus, not only physically, but also emotional loneliness. O Lord, may You call us and use us, allow Your healing power to be upon them, inspiring people to step outside of their comfort zone, to accept others.

O Lord, we pray for all the EFC Churches, rescue us from fear, for what is inside of us is bigger than this world. By the redemption of Christ, the Holy Spirit had already placed the overcoming life within us, helping us to overcome this world, to overcome hatred, to have the spiritual perspective to see through the illusion of this world, and not be captured by fear.

O Lord, we thank You! Because of Your redemption and the work of the Holy Spirit, for us to be able to connect with our fellow brothers and sisters with no limitation of time and space. We pray in Your victorious name. Amen!
