Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35) Prayers for all brothers and sisters: may we yearn for Jesus Christ, coming to him daily no matter the circumstances, always continuing to trust him, and being filled with his Word.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) Prayers for this nation: for his light to shine upon this land and to reconcile racial hatred and conflict, therefore walking upon the path in which the Lord delights.
Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. (John 19:7-9) Diverse spiritual practices and countless religious disciplines fill the world. But only Jesus is the only Gate to life with God. We ask God’s blessing on His children to know him and his teachings more deeply, having the wisdom of discernment, not to be led astray by false and radical teachings.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me” (John 10:11, 14) Prayers for all shepherds, ministers, and missionaries: that the Lord may anoint their ministries and pour out His divine love, to help them be restored while relying on Him so that they emulate Christ’s sacrifice for his sheep.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25a) Prayers for church, school, public reopening, and a transitioning to a new stage. May we experience the Lord’s power in his resurrection and life, triumphing over the authority of death and darkness. Pray also for the containment of the global pandemic.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Prayers for all evangelism ministries, so that we are admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, presenting everyone fully mature in Christ.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) May Christ’s church and His people be united with Him and rely on the Holy Spirit’s great power in order to bear spiritual and evangelical fruit in this post-pandemic and new normal.
