EFC Family Update

We encourage every member of our EFC family to seize the moment, spend time each day to pray for the leaders of our nation, the frontline health care workers, and for everyone who is affected by this pandemic. Let us call upon the Lord to be gracious and to show His mercy, to heal and to comfort, and to stop the spreading of this virus.

Dear EFC Family,

Following the announcement issued by the World Health Organization characterizing COVID-19 as a global pandemic, President Donald Trump of the United States also declared a national emergency on March 13. With at least 169 countries having confirmed cases and the number of infections and death toll continue raising on a rapid pace, it seems like the whole world is overwhelmed by worries, fear, and uncertainty.

In times like this, we call upon every member of our EFC family to become intercessors to pray fervently for the pandemic. At the same time please be in compliance with regulations set by local governing body, to enhance self-management, and by God’s grace, we will get through this together. The newly installed 31st EFC General Assembly leadership team would like to share some information and would like your cooperation:

  1. EFC General Assembly have established an “Emergency Response Team” and is prepared to utilize reserve funds to set up “Caring Hotlines” in each region to care for EFC churches and members who are in need of help. Please stay tuned for more updates in the days to come. Meanwhile, please contact the General Assembly office directly if you need assistance or have questions.
  2. In light of the current situation, the General Assembly would like to help ease the financial burden of the local churches by waiving the monthly tithe contribution from local church to the General Assembly for two months (March & April). The General Assembly will re-evaluate the situation at the end of the two-month period to make further adjustment if needed.
  3. Regional pastors and chairpersons are encouraged to establish “Emergency Response Team” or “Caring Hotline” in their respective regions, to be in compliance to the regulations set by the local governing body, to enhance holistic self-management, and to make adjustments to cancel any unnecessary gatherings. Churches are encouraged to share love in action by caring for brothers and sisters, their family members, friends in the community, and those who are in need of help. Churches are also encouraged to keep up with current technologies to take advantage of platforms such as Line, Facebook, Zoom, YouTube, or other social mediums to replace in-person gatherings while creating an online environment to provide continual teaching, fellowship, and caring.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

Grace Upon Grace,
