SG PERSPECTIVE

Fulfill God’s Vision by His Mighty Power

February 15, 2026, marked a milestone of profound significance for Generations Church Los Angeles, as the ministry team arrived early in the morning to prepare the auditorium for the celebration of the church’s 10th anniversary, welcoming the arriving brothers, sisters, and guests with joyful smiles.

The thanksgiving service officially commenced at 10:15am with Elder Henry Ting and the worship team leading the congregation to come before the Lord in one accord in praise and worship. Soon after, Pastor Mike Kim, Senior Pastor of GCLA, delivered a welcome address and outlined the program for the ceremony. Immediately following, Deacon Tim Lau shared a moving testimony recounting his journey from baptism to assuming a role in ministry; Elder Henry Ting then looked back on the pioneering journey of ten years ago —recounting how, starting as a prayer group of just sixteen people, they received the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit to gradually establish the church as it stands today. He once again emphasized the church’s core vision: Shine, Glow, and Build — aiming to establish a well-rounded ministry centered on God’s love that encompasses children, youth, young adults, and families, thereby fulfilling the Lord’s Great Commission and Great Commandment.

The retrospective video screened during the meeting was deeply moving, bearing witness to the trail of God’s grace throughout the journey. Subsequently, Elder Morris Tien presented a special gift to Professor Richard Cook of Logos Evangelical Seminary, expressing gratitude for his years of tireless assistance and encouragement to GCLA. Rev. Allen Hu, Secretary General of EFC General Assembly, also attended in person to offer his congratulations; he presented a commemorative banner inscribed with the motto “Building a Glorious Church, Expanding the Kingdom of God,” encouraging the entire congregation to continue relying on the Lord’s grace as they walk shoulder-to-shoulder with the global family of over one hundred EFC churches, stepping forward into the next decade — one filled with both challenges and glory.

In his message, citing Acts 1:1–9, Pastor Mike Kim shared on the theme “Three Features of the Early Church.” He called upon the brothers and sisters to emulate the early church by: (1) relying on the Holy Spirit with faith as they follow; (2) receiving the Holy Spirit’s mighty power to overcome obstacles; and (3) setting clear goals to fulfill their contemporary mission. Pastor Mike Kim particularly encouraged everyone to respond earnestly to the Holy Spirit’s promptings — to wait eagerly and follow the Spirit’s leading closely, just as the disciples did — so that, united in heart, they may seek God’s will together and build the future.

Following the worship service, a group photo captured the joyful moments shared by all. Afterward, the brothers and sisters worked together to transform the venue into a dining area, where they shared a bountiful “Love Feast.” The spread featured Korean-style hot dogs, Taiwanese bubble tea, and a variety of exquisite pastries — delighting everyone with one pleasant surprise after another. Ice-breaking games arranged on stage enlivened the atmosphere; laughter rang out continuously, filling the space with warmth and fellowship. The gathering concluded successfully at 2:00 PM; demonstrating remarkable efficiency, the members swiftly restored and cleaned the venue before bidding one another a reluctant farewell.

We offer our heartfelt blessings to this vibrant, English-speaking congregation within the EFC family — may they continue to uphold their heavenly vision, press forward with the Lord’s mighty power, and fulfill the beautiful purposes God has prepared for them. Hallelujah!
