SG PERSPECTIVE

Imitate Christ, Serve One Another

Saturday, January 10, 2026, was a momentous day for Grace Bible Church as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. The day marked not only the beginning of a new year, but also a special thanksgiving worship service for the installation of newly elected elders, deacons, and ministry coworkers.

The service began at 10am with vibrant and passionate praise and worship, followed by the sermon delivered by the senior pastor, Rev. David Suk Hoa Lee, titled “A Glorious Ministry” based on 1 Peter 5:1–6. Pastor David shared three perspectives — (1) a ministry established by the apostles, (2) a ministry modeled by elders, and (3) a ministry crowned with glory. Pastor David encouraged both the newly elected coworkers and the entire church to embrace three attitudes of service: (1) not under compulsion but willingly, (2) not for personal gain but eagerly, and (3) not lording it over others but being examples to the flock. Following the message, Pastor David conducted the installation of elders, deacons, and coworkers with questions and vows, followed by brief testimonies and reflections on their calling.

Next, Rev. Allen Hu, the Secretary General of EFC General Assembly, who had come especially for the occasion, shared an exhortation from Ephesians 5:18–21. He encouraged the congregation with three “S” — “To Sing, To Serve, and To Submit” — as the proper posture of Christians when they come to church. He then offered special prayers and blessings for all the newly installed leaders and coworkers, and presented the EFC banner bearing the vision, “Build a Glorious Church and to Expand God’s Kingdom,” to inspire the congregation. After a closing response song, Rev. Hu also prayed a blessing over Grace Bible Church as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

After the worship service, all the newly installed coworkers took photos with their family members and friends who had traveled from afar. Since this was also Rev. Hu’s first visit after the church relocated to its new site, he joyfully reconnected with many longtime coworkers from past EFC ministries. Laughter and warm greetings filled the space as people caught up with one another.

The fellowship then continued in the social hall, where everyone enjoyed a generous Mexican taco lunch lovingly prepared by the ministry team. Several families happened to have January birthdays, so the congregation joyfully sang “Happy Birthday” together. The atmosphere was lively and warm, and it was not until after 1:00 p.m. that people reluctantly exchanged blessings of peace and gradually departed.

We sincerely bless Grace Bible Church, founded with a vision to serve the second-generation Asian American Christians, to hold onto its mission of “Passion for Christ, Passion for Each Other, Passion for the Lost” and to be the salt and light of this world, to grow into maturity, and to glorify His name. May all glory be to God, Amen!
