Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you today in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, on behalf of the many families who have lost loved ones to the Covid Virus pandemic. You are the God, who comforts us in all of our affliction that we may comfort others in their suffering. We pray for you love and comfort for all who have lost loved ones. We pray for healing and recovery for those who have Covid. Thank you, Lord for the development of vaccines and we pray for their efficient distribution especially among those living in poverty in developing countries and among those who are in most urgent need. Give those in government responsible for containing the virus wisdom in implementing policies aimed at stopping the spread of this disease. We pray that policies be fairly and justly enforced without discrimination, especially towards those who wish to gather freely and regularly for worship. Many people have lost their jobs and are in need of basic necessities. Please help especially church food banks or charities in meeting these needs through the generous contributions of those who have the means to give. In your sovereign grace, use the pandemic to draw more people to yourself, open opportunities for us to preach the gospel in order to lead people to repentance from their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Please give wisdom to our pastors and church leaders in shepherding their churches and reaching out to their communities especially during times of lock down or quarantine. We also pray for special grace and protection for those are working as doctors, nurses, and other health care workers.
Father, we thank you that your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and that you rule on the throne through Jesus Christ forever. No matter what we see happening in our nation or globally, no matter who is elected president or rules as a dictator, you are still on the throne and no one will usurp your authority or stop your plan. Help us to honor all who are in authority and to be God fearing citizens. We pray for America, Taiwan, Australia, and other democracies, that our freedoms to speak, write, to freely assemble and to worship freely will be preserved in accordance with their constitutions. We also pray for the end of government support and policies that encourage or promote abortion, transgenderism, and same sex marriage, which undermine the covenant of marriage and the traditional family structure established by you in the scriptures. Please raise up more godly leaders at all levels of government to foster laws or policies that will contribute to a less divisive but more just society.
We pray for revival in the church Lord. Deliver us from the many idolatries and compromises that we have allowed in our lives. Help those who teach and preach the Word of God, do so with boldness without fear or compromise. Change our hearts that we would truly love, serve and respect one another as believers regardless of race or ethnicity. Bring about a genuine unity among all who are in Christ, without compromising truth, in our churches, allowing for healing and reconciliation among all racial or ethnicities who have suffered from discrimination, injustice and racism. We pray that the church not lose its focus which is to proclaim the Gospel and to make disciples of all nations while not neglecting to care for the poor, the sick and those in need.
We pray especially for all believers everywhere who are suffering and being persecuted or imprisoned for their faith especially in places like the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, India and mainland China. Grant them strength, courage, perseverance, and boldness to live out their faith. May their witness for Christ influence many to believe in Jesus. We praise you for the growth of the church especially in the global south. We pray for revival of the church in North America, Europe and other countries where the Christian faith has been in decline. Please continue to release more laborers for the harvest in all areas of the world especially in places that are still unreached with the gospel.
To You Be the Glory, the Honor and the Praise Forever More!
In Jesus Name, Amen!
